About NoFoldem Texas Holdem Poker Hole Cards III

On this page, let's examine the usefulness of the NoFoldem Hold 'em Hole Cards table. It would, at first glance, seem to be a less than elegant method of determining the relative winning potential for the 169 hole card combinations in Texas Hold 'em poker. Would simulated players who check, bet, raise, bluff and fold just like real live players give us a better hole cards table?

If we are to find a better hold 'em hole cards table then it must necessarily be a different hole cards table. We are looking for hole cards that are too high or too low in the nofoldem table. We want to find hole cards that rank high in the nofoldem table, but actually should be folded in live play. We are also looking for previously undiscovered miracle hole cards that win more in live play than in a nofoldem simulation. I'm sure that you're aware of the legendary "computer hand" and the surprising results it is supposed to produce. What we hope to find is a hole cards table that will give us a secret edge in Texas hold 'em poker.

If we use simulated players who bet and win simulated pots then the hole cards could have a monetary or units value. We could even have a value for each position for all the hole cards. The winning hands would have a positive value and the losing hands would have a negative value. If there are winning hole cards, there must also be losers.

In order to have a chips value for each hole card combination, it will be necessary for every player to see every flop. We must have data for all 169 hole cards if we are going to find any previously unknown gems. This will inflate the values for the winning hole cards because the simulated pots will be larger than life especially with first round raising. It could give some hole cards an unrealistic value.

Each of the simulated players will have to be programmed to play perfect Texas Hold 'em poker on the flop, turn and river, not perfect according to the world's foremost expert, but absolutely perfect. Anything less than perfect hold 'em poker will result in a hole cards table that is skewed by the programmer's biases.

If the simulated players are programmed to play every hand perfectly, and if perfect play includes folding on the first round then we are caught in a vicious circle of computer research. No data can be accumulated for hole cards that are folded on the first round, and if the simulated players play every hand then there is the problem of programming the players to play losing hole cards perfectly.
